Owner and program developer of 80/20 ADVANTAGE, LLC, Kevin Maurer has extensive experience and expertise in training development, law enforcement, corrections, and homeland security. He has earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University, a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Management (BAAS) from Southwest Texas State University, and an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice (AS) from the Community College of the Air Force. He has been a law enforcement officer since 1981, with experience in various aspects of the profession including patrol, patrol supervision, investigations, crime scene processing, training, administration, corrections, and Juvenile Boot Camp. Mr. Maurer is a subject matter expert for law enforcement matters pertaining to homeland security, and has worked extensively with the "Homeland One" training program developed by Primedia Workplace Learning, Inc. He was an instructor at the U.S. Air Force Security Police Academy where he received the Air Training Command Master Instructor Award, Law Enforcement Training Specialist with Wake Technical Community College (Raleigh, N.C.), and an Adjunct Instructor at several Colleges in both Florida and North Carolina. Additionally, he has conducted training for Sirchie Fingerprint Labs in Evidence Collection. Mr. Maurer has developed and conducted various training programs in Terrorism, Domestic Violence, Law Enforcement and Corrections Officer Survival, Time Management, Criminal Justice Ethics, and was co-author of the N.C. Basic Law Enforcement Training Domestic Violence curriculum. He is a contributor to the book Tactics for Criminal Patrol (Calibre Press, Inc. 1995), and is on the Content Advisory Board for the Law Enforcement Training Network (LETN). Mr. Maurer is a contracted instructor for the Florida Attorney General’s Office, an instructor for the Center for Biological Defense, and is a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), the National Major Gang Task Force, and the American Corrections Association (ACA).
